Project Description
The development of our current urban electric door began in 2012. We received a request from a transportation company in the Helsinki region to develop a solution that was better suited to cold conditions than the existing pressure door. This request led to a joint project with a major European bus manufacturer.
The first series of buses with Tamware electric doors started operating at the beginning of 2013. Since then, the number of city buses with electric doors in Helsinki and other major cities in Finland has increased significantly.
Today, approximately 500 vehicles in Helsinki’s metropolitan transport network use Tamware Oy’s electric doors.
